| This station displays the daily build schedule in a grid format. Each row of the grid may be a particular unit or group of units of the same model for an order. The operator selects the desired unit to build via the touch screen by touching the row containing the order to process. Once selected, a unique serial number is generated, or retrieved from the build schedule, along with the model number. At this station the operator lays in the compressor on the base pan. The operator is then prompted to scan the compressor serial number and part number. The compressor part number is verified against the model bill of material. If the compressor fails verification, the red stack light is turned on to indicate failure along with a message displayed on the computer screen. If the compressor passes verification, the compressor information is married with the unique serial and model information and stored to the database. Then, a barcode label, containing the unique serial and model number, is printed to attach to the base pan for unit identification along the assembly line. Additional labels may be printed at this station, some of which may be Energy Guides, Rating Plates, and Wiring Diagrams. |
